Webinar: Performance Measures for Mobility Managers

  • Date and Time: Thursday, Feb. 9, 2 p.m. Eastern time
  • Register: http://www.cvent.com/d/fcq96b/4W
This webinar will discuss performance measures as they relate specifically to mobility management. It will cover the state of performance measurement of mobility management programs and where there is room for improvement. Speakers include authors of "Performance Measures for Public Transit Mobility Management," a national survey of the current use and types of performance measures for mobility management. The Texas Transportation Institute study presents case studies to demonstrate how they are employed in different types of communities and the study offers recommendations that will support mobility management programs in telling their stories and providing evidence of their value.

See the Livable Streets Film Festival! (link here)

Picture
Were you among the 150 people who came to our Livable Streets Film Festival?  If yes, then you saw 21+ short films in 2.25 hours. Did you win a door prize? Eat popcorn? Leave with a warm glow?

Even if you missed the festival, you can still see what the buzz was all about. I uploaded many festival videos, including links to StreetFilms, GoMaineNation and GoGet Carshare. But,  the rescreening rights to FilmedByBike films I bought were for a single public use. So, you can obtain their DvDs at FilmedByBike.org . Dim the lights & enjoy the show!

Gas Prices

Picture
Gas pump in CA, 2008
You can follow US and NYS gas prices on a weekly basis from the Energy Information Agency at EIA.gov. I use it as a barometer of consumer emotional receptivity for mobility alternatives. When gasoline was over $4.30 a gallon in 2008 in Upstate NY, many people urgently looked for affordable ways to go to work and cut back on  discretionary driving. In 2011-12, we are in a  period of volatile gas prices.  Promoting mobility alternatives to driving alone, can help people regain control of their mobility costs. Let's act on it!

The overlapping charts below show the U.S. retail price of gasoline that is published weekly by the EIA (Energy Information Agency). Each graph shows two and one half years of weekly prices. The first graph starts in March 2005.

NYSDOH Medicaid Administration Plan

Picture
The New York State Department of Health's November 2010 Medicaid Administration report has been posted on the Department of Health website, http://www.health.ny.gov/health_care/docs/2010-11_medicaid_admin_report.pdf. This report, which is the first step in developing a plan for the State administration of Medicaid, describes the current administration of New York Medicaid, and makes short-term and long-term recommendations for the steps that must be taken over the next five years to develop and implement a final plan for State administration of Medicaid.

Opportunities for Advancing Travel Demand Management in New York State - Draft

Picture
ICF International is working with NYSDOT to develop the Statewide Travel Demand Management (TDM) Strategic Framework for New York State. For your reference, the April 12 webinar presentation is attached.

A key aspect of the regional meetings held in 2010, and survey is to develop recommendations related to NYSDOT programs or policies that will be supportive of regional efforts to manage travel demand.

If you have questions about this effort contact ICF International.
