What is Mobility Management?
"Mobility management is a strategic approach to service coordination and customer service that is becoming a worldwide trend in the public transportation sector. In its most basic form, mobility management is simply the good use of a great variety of existing transportation resources, the use of less expensive alternatives, and the creation of inter-agency partnerships, all with the primary goal of providing customized service to residents and communities." ![]() PartnershipforMobilityManagementThe Partnership for Mobility Management is a joint effort of national organizations that work with national, local, state and regional leaders and organizations to improve transportation options for all Americans wherever they live and to assist those especially in need of alternative mobility options.
The Partnership is a collaboration of eight organizations, (United We Ride (FTA), AASHTO, ABA, APTA, ACT, CTAA, Easter Seals and TLPA). I strongly encourage everyone, including you, to join the Partnership for Mobility Management, a national level organization supporting mobility management and managers. The free individual membership gives you a voice in the direction of the Partnership and provides a forum for exchange with mobility managers from around the country. If you are a mobility manager, you work with mobility managers or you're interested in mobility management, then the Partnership wants you to join. One benefit of membership is access to the Partnership's LinkedIn Group. There is a lot happening in mobility management in New York and on the national scene. This is hard work, requiring successful coalition building, inter-relationships, mutual support and resources.
